How are sports officials being recognized?

Sports officials are recognized by the State and through local associations. Annual banquets are held where officials are recognized for accomplishments during the season, for years of service, and giving back to the game. Awards and plaques are presented to those deserving of recognition. Local associations will recognize officials during the season for their postseason accomplishments by notifying members of their assignments. Additionally, local associations setup social events for their members. These provide opportunities for officials to congregate and network with each other.

Respect The Ref is recognizing officials in the following ways: We acknowledge officials through our private, officials only, Facebook page – Respect The Ref, we provide an award for outstanding officials of the year voted on by their peers, we offer social networking opportunities to officials throughout the year.
